Agent Friendly’s agents.txt setup describes a business and points agents toward useful public routes. Treat it as an optional discovery aid, not universal adoption or purchase authorization.
Check the visitor’s path
- Include the business identity, website, product information, help route, and feedback destination.
- Use working public URLs and check them after navigation or domain changes.
- Keep private agent keys, account credentials, and customer information out of the file.
- Publish the same essential information on ordinary web pages so the file is not the only path.
Treat the file like directions at the entrance. If it points to an old support page, the directions are wrong even when the file itself loads perfectly.
A check you can run
Follow every URL in the file as a new visitor. Confirm the destination remains relevant and readable. Then inspect the file for private identifiers or credentials. The public directions should never serve as the only source of business facts.
