Reading a public page and authorizing a purchase are different actions. A crawler policy cannot express the buyer’s consent to spend money.
Check the visitor’s path
- Review robots rules and infrastructure access when public content cannot be retrieved.
- Keep authenticated account actions behind their appropriate permissions even when product information is public.
- Before any purchase, establish the buyer’s scope: item, quantity, budget, and required confirmation.
- Test public discovery separately from private actions so one successful fetch does not imply full transaction support.
A useful boundary test: let the agent read a price, then stop before placing the order. The second step needs authority the first never supplied.
A check you can run
Define the stopping point before starting a task. An agent may compare published offers while a later order requires separate authority. Check that the interface and server enforce the intended boundary instead of relying on a warning in a guide.
