A useful GEO content brief defines one question, the evidence needed to answer it, and what the reader should be able to decide afterward. Keywords describe that intent; they do not replace it.
Apply the idea
- Write the question as a buyer would ask it, including the important constraint.
- List the product facts or policy passages needed for an accurate answer.
- Check existing pages and choose whether to update one or create a genuinely different resource.
- Specify one worked example and one useful next action.
For “Which lamp fits a shallow shelf?”, the brief needs base depth, cable clearance, and stability guidance. Another generic buying guide would leave the original question unanswered.
A check you can run
Before drafting, fill in: question, audience, existing URL, evidence, example, decision, and maintenance owner. A missing evidence field is a research task, not an invitation to invent detail.
