Answer engine optimization (AEO) focuses on making a question’s answer easy to find and understand. Start with the answer itself, then provide the conditions that keep it accurate when quoted.
Apply the idea
- Use a heading that states the reader’s actual question.
- Answer in a complete sentence that names the subject rather than relying on “it” or “this.”
- Keep exceptions beside the answer, especially eligibility rules and product limitations.
- Link to the supporting policy or specification rather than repeating an unsupported claim.
A useful answer to “Can I return an opened item?” names the item type, window, and exclusions. A detached “Yes, within 30 days” can mislead a reader whose product is excluded.
A check you can run
Copy only the answer paragraph into a blank document. Can a new reader identify which product and conditions it describes? If not, add the missing scope before publishing.
