Structured product data gives machines explicit fields for product facts. Its usefulness depends on matching what a visitor can actually see and select.
What the shopper needs
- Use the same product identity, currency, availability, and price in your visible content and structured output.
- Handle variants deliberately. A starting price should not look like the final price of every configuration.
- Update structured fields when inventory or pricing changes; stale markup creates contradictory answers.
- Inspect the generated HTML after a deployment, then compare it against the live product selection.
Imagine the page says USD 49 while its markup still says USD 39. Updating the template is incomplete until both versions agree on the same selection.
A check you can run
Select a variant, inspect its visible price and stock, and compare them with the relevant offer in the markup. Repeat for another variant. Parsing valid JSON alone does not establish that the product facts are correct.
