How to find orphan pages in a growing blog

By Agent Friendly · Published · 1 min read

An orphan article has no useful internal route leading to it. New posts can become effectively hidden when a site relies on search filters, a sitemap, or a release announcement as the only discovery path.

What to inspect

A page can load perfectly when you paste its URL and still be hard to discover. The test is whether a reader starting at the site can reach it through meaningful navigation.

A check you can run

Start at the blog with JavaScript disabled. Reach a recently added article through a topic page, then follow its related reading back into the library.
