Content decay happens when a once-useful answer no longer matches the product, policy, or interface. Review the facts that can change a customer’s decision before polishing wording or adding more posts.
What to record
- Prioritize pages with volatile prices, availability, or workflow steps.
- Check screenshots and examples against the current interface.
- Repair broken source links and investigate changed evidence.
- Merge obsolete overlap while preserving a useful route from old URLs.
A shipping guide can remain readable while its cutoff time becomes wrong. A reward article can become misleading if funding status changes. Assign an owner to those facts rather than assuming a fresh design means fresh information.
A check you can run
Choose five decision-critical claims and trace each to a current source. Record verified, changed, or unresolved, then update the page and modification date only when the content warrants it.
