Article or BlogPosting structured data describes the article that visitors can read. Keep its headline, author, dates, and page identity consistent with the visible content rather than adding claims that exist only in markup.
What to inspect
- Name the actual author or publishing organization.
- Preserve the original date and distinguish a substantive revision.
- Use the article’s canonical address as its page identity.
- Validate JSON syntax and inspect the rendered page after template changes.
Structured data cannot compensate for an unsupported answer. A valid object with an invented expert author is still inaccurate. Start with honest visible information, then represent it consistently for machines.
A check you can run
Parse the JSON-LD and compare its headline, author, and dates with the page. Repeat across several posts to catch a template that accidentally reuses one article’s values.
